Reporting to the Head of Digital Engineering, you will guide and influence the team to take new analytical approaches and improved ways of working. You will manage team tasks through sprints and/or backlogs, leading from a strategic point of view with a vision for how.

With your vision, you can position data science to be at the forefront of developing new clean energy technologies. You’ll help to decarbonise the world.

Package and benefits – £65k-75k (depending on experience) benefits (including pension package, discounted shares scheme, 25 days holiday, healthcare and wellbeing policy).

 

The role:

With a proven track record of bringing models into production, you’ll inspire colleagues with the confidence to try out new techniques and methods.

Your work will identify, develop, and implement end-to-end applications of data science and machine learning techniques to optimise the operations of various departments within Ceres.

You will extract insights and help create improvements in data quality from but not limited to, test and manufacturing data. You will also help to advance the continuous validation of fuel cell stack models used in product development.

 

Experience required

  • A strong engineering background (ideally a degree or PhD in a relevant discipline).
  • Ideally, 4-5 years of experience applying data science tools in an engineering, product development, or industrial environment.
  • Experience working with a variety of machine learning techniques (regression, classification, clustering etc).
  • Knowledge and experience with Python, SQL, and ideally Databricks.
  • Familiarity/experience with agile development principles
  • Knowledge of and experience implementing software and machine learning model development processes.
  • Experience working with large, structured data sets in cloud-based environments.
  • Experience in making key decisions on what technique or approach is best for specific use cases/scenarios.
