NOT ACTIVE – Pricing Consultant/Pricing Analyst (Insurance) – €80,000 – €91,000 + bonus

Work for an in-house consultancy with high-impact projects and a genuine work-life balance.

Do you want to further your career in Consultancy but you’re worried about having a healthy work/life balance?

In this role, you’ll get that genuine work life balance – with far less travel than a normal consulting role and a flexi-time system to get your time back.

You’ll work as an in-house Consultant for one of the world’s largest insurance companies focusing on pricing projects.

But it’s not just about a great work/life balance. You’ll see the long-term impact of your work as  you manage projects with high visibility across a wide range of the company’s products and services.

Here, you’ll have every opportunity to take your career to the next step – without compromising on your personal life.

Key benefits include:

1 . Genuine work-life balance – If you’re in Consulting now, this is your chance to get your personal life back. The job involves travel, but a lot less than in a normal Consulting role. When a project has a tight deadline and you have to work late, you get your overtime credited via a flexitime system. One of the team I met had just come back from a 3-week trip home to the USA, taking this as flexi-time on top of their standard holiday allocation.

You won’t get that at most Consulting firms.

2 . Pricing projects with high visibility – You’ll mainly project manage technical pricing projects.

Some of these will capture the low-hanging fruit, while others aim to lead the company towards smart decision-making and strategic use of sophisticated pricing strategies.

You’ll review external data sources for value to insurance pricing and make recommendations based on the performance of different customer segmentations.

You will also look at technical pricing patterns and understand the underlying maths.

3 . Fast-growing team – Since 2019, the team has grown from 200 to over 500 people -ot bad growth inside a couple of years. Normally a business unit only grows that fast in a large company if it has C-level backing and is delivering results.

Growing teams = big opportunities to get promoted quicker.

4 . An unbelievably high level of stakeholder trust – An enviable track record of hundreds of successful internal Consulting projects has added hundreds of millions to the company’s bottom line. This means your internal clients will respect you more than outside consultants. You work for the same company as your clients so they know you’ll put their interests first – there’s no ‘ them and us’ culture here.

5 . Award Winning – In the past few years the company has received numerous awards, including the ‘Best In-House Consultancy’ in Germany by the prestigious WirtschaftsWoche’s ‘Best in Consulting’ awards. So you know you’ll be working in a high-performing team.

6 . Variety of work – The company has many subsidiaries delivering hundreds of products and services. This means every project is different and you’ll constantly be dealing with new challenges, so it’s impossible for you to get bored in this job. You’ll continually be learning new things at a rapid rate that isn’t always possible in a non-Consulting job.

7 . Learn from the best – The partner leading this group previously spent 4 years at McKinsey -there isn’t much he doesn’t know about delivering impactful Consulting programmes. You couldn’t be in better hands.

8 . You get to see the long-term impact of your work – In most Consulting jobs, you complete the project and then move on to the next job, without knowing what happened further down the road. Here you won’t get that. Whilst you’re eating your cakes in the canteen, expect stakeholders from previous projects to approach you, thanking you for the successful project you delivered long after you’ve gone. This actually happened when I was there – I was halfway through gobbling my second cake at the time.

Unparalleled career progression – There are two different career tracks available to help advance your career. The Consulting career track has 6 different levels to progress through if you stay working as an in-house consultant.  In addition to this, around 20% of the team move into senior positions in the wider company if an opportunity comes up that is a perfect fit. The entire group of companies has over 150k employees, meaning the career opportunities are endless.
