Pricing Consultant, Actuary (Insurance) – Salary: negotiable depending on experience

Influence clients and their pricing strategy for a leading consultancy in this in-house role.

Can you quantify the work you’ve done today?

Do you see a problem as an opportunity to create a solution?

With this proactive approach, you could be the right fit for an in-house Consultant role at one of the world’s largest insurance companies.

The main focus of your role will involve conducting market research, using your commercial acumen to create models and recommending pricing strategies to your clients.

You may be a Pricing Specialist or Actuary who has worked with clients or had leading roles in project teams and is looking to make the move into Consultancy. Alternatively, you could already be a Consultant who wants to become a specialist with a view towards actuarial science.

In this role, you’ll see the long-term impact of your work as you manage projects with high visibility across a wide range of the company’s products and services.

If you have the power to influence and find solutions to problems, then this could be the right move for you.

Key benefits include:

  • You’ll be involved in smart decision-making and problem-solving exercises – with plenty of opportunities to showcase your strengths and skills.
  • A high level of stakeholder trust means you’ll get to see the long-term impact of your work – a high track record of hundreds of successful internal projects means your colleagues will have a higher level of trust. In most consulting jobs, you complete the project and then move on to the next job, without knowing what happened further down the road. In this role, you’ll see the legacy of the work you do – from concept to completion.
  • Variety of work – The company has many subsidiaries delivering hundreds of products and services across the globe, meaning that every project is different and provides new challenges.
  • Career progression tracks – there are three different career tracks (leadership, expert and project management) available to help advance your career. This group is seen as a talent greenhouse, so you can advance your career in Consulting but have the option to move across the business into other areas.

Minimum requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in a pricing role with strong actuarial experience (with a high degree of visibility, e.g. consulting actuaries, actuarial consulting for insurers, worked with external clients or highly-visible internal projects)
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry or financial services (e.g. Investment, Brokerage)
  • Experience in project management methods, process development and continuous improvement
  • Excellent problem-solving and strong business partnering skills
  • Fluent in English with business-proficiency level in German.
