Reporting to the Clinical Pharmacology Director, you’ll create the entire strategy for a newly-established Data Science function.

What’s the role

As a leader of leaders, you’ll develop and implement the overall data strategy for the entire business function.

Doing this will enable Data Scientists in pharmacometrics, clinical bioinformatics and systems pharmacology to maximise their data knowledge generation to best support decision-making.

To drive the strategy forward, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing the function and its sub-entities, both for staffing and content.
  • Guiding technological advancements for data, infrastructure, and descriptive analysis topics.
  • Developing and implementing a concept for knowledge management within the department.
  • Developing and implementing a quality control and validation strategy by closely collaborating with functional quality representatives.
  • Overseeing and leading cross-functional matrix teams and working groups to address data and technologies or user enablement topics.

 

What you’ll add

The entire DS function depends on the activity of your business unit. So, you’ll be a strong leader who can collaborate easily with multidisciplinary and intercultural teams across various projects.

You’ll have a PhD or master’s degree in life science, data science, statistics, computer science, softwaror computer engineering, with strong expertise within the pharmaceutical industry, CROs, or regulatory authorities.

Understanding patient data regulations and compliance standards will be key to your success here.

You’ll also bring:

  • Broad knowledge in IT, data, and descriptive analysis topics relevant to this field.
  • Experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT and data strategies.
  • Advanced experience in GXP-compliant practices and functional/validated IT systems.
  • Good understanding of data science disciplines including pharmacometrics, clinical bioinformatics, and systems pharmacology.
  • Strong goal- and team-oriented working style paired with excellent organisation and communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • An understanding of clinical drug development.
