NOT ACTIVE – Senior Data Engineer – UK (Fully Remote)

How do we know when we have it?

Is it possible to measure how engaged you are – with this advertisement, for example?

What’s the role?

Would your attention increase if we told you that we were looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to work with one of the world’s largest facial coding databases and create Big Data solutions from the ground up?

And would you be visibly persuaded to apply if we added that you’d be working in a collaborative startup environment alongside some of the world’s leading experts in facial expression analysis?

That’s exactly where our clients’ ideas come in.

They’re a ground-breaking, fast-growing business who have brought together some of the world’s best brains in computer vision and deep learning to create AI that can interpret facial expressions and, in turn, human emotions.

It’s powerful technology with some exciting applications, in business and education. Today, it’s already being used by more than 150 global brands to sharpen their understanding of how audiences respond to their creative marketing content.

The technology is underpinned by one of the world’s largest facial coding databases. And that’s where you come in…

What you can add

This is a great chance for someone who’s already proven they can work with big data to become a critical member of the company’s data engineering team. Working flexibly (and remotely), alongside researchers, data scientists and engineers, you’ll have end-to-end responsibility for Big Data tools and databases used across the business.

You’ll have the freedom here to push boundaries and explore novel solutions. That includes designing scalable models and pipelines, raising standards for coding/documentation, helping to optimise productionized code, and improving the way data quality is tracked. There’s lots to achieve; your contribution will be valued.

Alongside proven Python skills, you’ll call on a few years’ data engineering experience working with big data on cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP and building (or using) ETL pipelines.

Whilst not essential, it would be ideal if you have experience of some of the following on your CV:

  • Working with Google Big Query and Google Ads Data Hub or building ad tech data solutions;
  • Data visualisation frameworks (e.g. Matplotlib, Plotly);
  • Continuous integration, configuration, and documentation management.
