You’ll be part of a ground-breaking, fast-growing business with an entrepreneurial leadership team. They’ve brought together some of the world’s best brains in computer vision and deep learning to create AI that can interpret facial expressions and, in turn, human emotions. Their market-leading tech has secured their partnerships with some of the world’s best-known brands, agencies, and media companies.

Specifically, you’ll join the R&D team, which comprises five engineers and scientists, and help the business to bridge the gap between academic research into human emotions, machine learning, and actionable business applications.

Essentially, that means horizon scanning to keep abreast of the latest developments, tools, and tech – whether that’s in universities or commercial competitors.

You’ll be contributing to the R&D strategy, forging partnerships with academics, supporting the design of new products, and – importantly – guiding and inspiring the rest of the team from a research perspective. If you’re looking for greater influence, impact, and autonomy, this is an ideal move.

What you can add

As a guide, you probably have most of the following on your CV:

  • A Master’s or PhD in an engineering or scientific field.
  • A strong background in computer vision and deep learning with hands-on experience in modern frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Jax, or MxNet.
  • Practical knowledge of Python or C++. Experience in speed or memory footprint optimisation would be a big plus.
  • Exposure to an Agile environment.
  • Confident communication skills – you’re capable of presenting work clearly to decision-makers.
  • People management experience isn’t essential provide you can convince us you have the interpersonal skills to guide a small team from a research and technical perspective.
  • Any experience with face, facial expression, and upper body gesture recognition would be useful.
