As the agency’s first (and only) senior data analyst, you’ll play a huge role in expanding your colleagues’ knowledge, showing them how using data effectively can help the agency become more consultative and client-focused.

If you’re a junior-mid-level data analyst who understands advertising/media, it’s an ideal environment to incubate your own skills too, as you help the company to develop a new industry-first data platform.

A platform for growth

Calling on their incisive understanding of what PPC advertising clients need, the agency is building a bespoke data platform spanning reporting, analysis, campaign management, click fraud detection and bid management. By turning data from multiple sources into valuable insight (both for internal account managers and directly to clients) it has the power to make the agency much more proactive and profitable – the CEO’s vision is that this could more than double the company’s already-healthy turnover.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for pushing the platform forward. It’s is a highly visible role with huge scope to grow the business, develop your career and, in time, to build your own team.

What you can add

The strategy is set. The groundwork has been done. You’ll inject the data analysis and reporting expertise to bring the platform to life. Whilst that eliminates a lot of the initial grind, you will need to take care of some data engineering, cleansing and scripting in the early stages.

We’re looking for someone with the blend of technical and people skills to become the agency’s resident data expert. That includes:

  • Evaluating existing script ideas (with current users) and scoping new ones. Working with the script team to improve and replace scripts (e.g. switching them for data from BigQuery)
  • Working with team leaders to decide what reports would be useful for the business. You’ll have experience with data visualisation using Data Studio.
  • Liaising with data warehouse providers to create a data road map and to troubleshoot data integrity.
  • Employing your versatile communication skills (in person and in writing) to keep colleagues, suppliers and external clients fully up to date with how the project is progressing.
  • Technically, you’ll need proven Python programming skills, experience with either SQL or BigQuery and, ideally, a background in Google Ads.
